Latest News

I composed the original theatre music for Yasmina Reza’s new play James Brown wore Curlers (James Brown trug Lockenwickler) at the Residenztheater Munich (Residenztheater München). This project continues my work with leading European theatres.

My composition for The Inheritance (Das Vermächtnis) was also performed at the Residenztheater Munich (Residenztheater München) and was invited to the prestigious Theatertreffen Festival (Theatertreffen Berlin).

In television, I recently completed the original music for several productions, including Antarktika (ARTE), Malibu (ZDF), Newsealand (ARTE), Aracy the Angel (ARTE) and Guests for Dinner (Zu Gast bei Freunden, ZDF). I also composed the soundtracks for Zero (ARD) and Riesending (ARD), both directed by Academy Award® winner (Oscar®-Preisträger) Jochen Alexander Freydank.

For cinema, my score for Chess Story (Die Schachnovelle) was completed in 2020, with a theatrical release and soundtrack streaming planned. After the success of The Joshua Profile (Das Joshua-Profil, based on the novel by Sebastian Fitzek), the soundtrack is now available on iTunes and Spotify. The soundtrack for Goethe! (Goethe! – Junges Goethe in der Liebe) has also been re-released in a remastered 24-bit edition, featuring previously unreleased tracks.

Other recent projects include Venus in the 4th House (Venus im vierten Haus), directed by Sebastian Grobler in Singapore, and live concert performances of The Physician (Der Medicus) with orchestra on Museum Island Berlin (Museumsinsel Berlin) and in Potsdam with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg (Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg), who also recorded the award-winning soundtrack (ECSA Award).

In addition, I was honored to serve as a jury member (Jury-Mitglied) for the German Film Music Award (Deutscher Filmmusikpreis) in 2016.

Cinema

As a film composer (Filmkomponist), I have written the original scores for a wide range of international productions:

  • Toyland (Spielzeugland) – Academy Award® (Oscar®) winner, original score by Ingo Ludwig Frenzel

  • The Physician (Der Medicus) – historical epic, produced by Universal/UFA, starring Ben Kingsley

  • Chess Story (Die Schachnovelle) – literary adaptation directed by Philipp Stölzl, starring Oliver Masucci

  • Goethe! (Goethe! – Junges Goethe in der Liebe) – romantic drama with Moritz Bleibtreu and Alexander Fehling

  • Lessons of a Dream (Der ganz große Traum) – feature film starring Daniel Brühl

  • Lollipop Monster – coming-of-age drama (Coming-of-Age-Drama), original music

  • Electric Girl – contemporary feature film (Spielfilm), soundtrack by Ingo Ludwig Frenzel

Opera & Theatre

In addition to film music (Filmmusik), I compose extensively for opera and theatre (Oper und Theater):

  • Orpheus in the Underworld (Orpheus in der Unterwelt) – revised production at Staatsoper Unter den Linden (Berlin) under Daniel Barenboim

  • Freischütz (Der Freischütz) – new interpretation prepared for the Bregenz Festival (Bregenzer Festspiele)

  • The Inheritance (Das Vermächtnis) – theatre production with original music, invited to Theatertreffen (Berlin)

  • James Brown wore Curlers (James Brown trug Lockenwickler) – new play by Yasmina Reza, music composed for the Residenztheater Munich (Residenztheater München)
